Helsinki, Finland – A significant consortium of Finnish research organizations and leading companies joins forces for developing new solutions for clean and efficient marine and off-road transport.

The goal of the Clean Propulsion Technologies (CPT) Consortium is to secure the global technology leader position for the Finnish powertrain industry by creating a common vision and sustainable business solutions. In the long term, the goal is achieved by evolving the common technological roadmap for the marine and off-road sectors providing a consolidated plan for how to secure this compliance until 2050. The project led by University of Vaasa is expected to run until spring 2023 and has been granted funding of EUR 7.9 million by Business Finland, the Finnish Government’s organization for innovation funding and trade, travel and investment promotion.

Geyser Batteries is one of the collaboration partners of the project together with Wärtsilä Finland, AGCO Power, Meyer Turku, Napa, Dinex Finland, Proventia, Bosch Rexroth and APUGenius. The research partners are Aalto University, Tampere University, Åbo Akademi University, VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland and Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology LUT. The project has also several international collaborators.

“Collaboration projects will play a crucial role in the future to reach the ambitious environmental goals set by the European Union. The Clean Propulsion Technologies Project Consortium allows us to further develop and refine our sustainable and durable energy storage solutions and work together with this great network of companies and research partners towards the electrification of our common future”, says Andrey Shigaev, CEO of Geyser Batteries.
